AFTERCARE

CLEAN (Days 1-10)

THE BEGINNING

The skin is a fresh wound that’s beginning the scabbing process: it oozes, it swells, and it hurts.

During this stage

Using an unscented soap, gently clean your tattoo to wash away infection-causing germs and debris. Keep it clean, and keep it out of the sun!

this stage ends

This stage ends once your skin is fully healed.

HEAL (Days 1-10)

The Scabbing

The skin is a fresh wound that’s beginning the scabbing process: it oozes, it swells, and it hurts. With healing comes inflammation.

During this stage

Using a tattoo salve helps your body heal in the most pleasant and effective way possible.

This stage ends

This stage ends once the scabs have formed and it might itch.

Moisturize (Days 10-21)

The Flake Off

The skin is healing itself under the cover of scabs, and it itches. It might be tempting, but don’t pick at the scabs! Your body will get rid of them when it is done.

During this stage

Using a cream moisturizes your tattoo like none other.

this stage ends

This stage ends when the scabs fall off and leave behind a brand new shiny layer of skin.

Defend (From 22 Days on...)
Skin Cocoon

The skin is still healing under that new thin layer of skin. This process can take up to 6 months and your tattoo can look cloudy until it is complete.

During this stage

Using an SPF 50 sunscreen helps protect your tattoo from harmful UV rays that will destroy pigments and fade your tattoo.

this stage ends

This stage ends when your tattoo is no longer cloudy or achy; but the need for UV Protection never stops!
